Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar wanted a strong, inclusive and developed India. Our nation is privileged to have been graced by the presence of many great men. Dr. Ambedkar stands tall as one the greatest and most influential leaders. He devoted his life and efforts towards bringing a positive difference in the lives of the poor, marginalized and under privileged. His stress on inclusion of the poor is an inspiration to all of us at SRYKS
The theme for this year was ‘Communities make the difference’. The key messages given through WAD – 2019 were: 1 – Awareness is the best messages 2 – There is no cure for infection. However, effective anti-retroviral (ARV) drugs can control the virus and help prevent transmission 3 – With ARV therapy, people with HIV can enjoy healthy, long and productive lives
Since 1992, the UN’s international day of persons with disabilities has been celebrated annually on the 3rd of December. This year SRYKS too marked this day at our residential facility for the intellectually disabled (MR) children and young adults with activities in line with the theme for building a more inclusive and equitable world for persons with disabilities. The theme for this year was: promoting the participation of persons with disabilities and their leadership – taking action on the 2030 development agenda.
The role of a teacher in developing a child and building a civilized society was hailed during the teachers’ day celebrations held at our units on the 5th of September, 2019. Teachers’ day is celebrated on the birth anniversary of the second President of India, Shri. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan. This day is celebrated in India since 1962. Enthusiasm and festivity marked the teachers’ day celebration at SRYKS. The atmosphere in the organization gripped with fervor
The students and teachers of all school units enthusiastically celebrated Gandhi Jayanti and Shastri Jayanti on the 2nd of October, 2019. The students took out ‘prabhat pheris’ in the morning, raising slogans in favor of non – violence, truth and patriotism. Students were informed about the life of Mahatma Gandhiji and the values he embodied, espoused and struggled for. Teachers also informed the students about the peerless honesty, simplicity and courage Lal Bahadur Shastri personified.
On November 14 every year, India celebrates children’s day to commemorate the birth anniversary of our beloved Jawaharlal Nehru, who was fond of children. Children and staff of all our units celebrated the day with lot of gaiety. Students delivered speeches on the life of Nehruji, his struggle, his contribution towards our nation and how he helped India to become Independent. To make this day meaningful and memorable, teachers recited poems and presented songs. In the end children were entertained by a dance group.
3 rd of January is celebrated by observing every year as the birth anniversary of the first lady teacher of India – Savitribai Phule. The same day also marks ‘Balika Din’. The day was successfully celebrated by the initiative taken by the teaching and non – teaching staff of SRYKS. The chief guest in her speech on the life and achievements of Savitribai Phule was very informative and it gave a lot of information to everyone present.
Each year, the 26th of January is celebrated as the Republic Day in India. This made India an independent republic with a democratic government system. SRYKS supports education for children through its schooling units. We provide our students regular lessons, exposure to sports and co – curricular activities for promoting their holistic development who in the near future will be the decision makers of the country. Meritorious students were felicitated on this Republic Day.
Adopted by the UN in 1977, International Women’s Day is celebrated on the 8th of March annually. The theme for IWD 2020 was: I am generation Equality: Realizing women’s rights – it puts innovation by women and girls, for women and girls, at the heart of efforts to achieve gender equality. When women have access to education, health care, nutrition, equal partners in decision- making, their families and communities are more productive and stable.
